Amsn is the instant messaging software for GNU / Linux (also available for other systems) most appreciated as the graphical interface is very similar to Windows Live Messenger and features are almost the same as the Microsoft program, so it is certainly on the best alternative for those who are accustomed to use it.

The procedure for installation is relatively simple but some users, particularly those who have switched to Linux recently, may find it difficult because you can not perform all the operations terminal.

First you must download the package compatible with its distribution, all links are presented in= "Javascript: pageTracker._trackPageview ('/ outgoing / www.amsn-project.net / linux-downloads.php')" href = "http://www.amsn-project.net/linux-downloads.php" > This page I emphasize that the package is only for systems having the same base but different graphical environment, eg. deb for Ubuntu is compatible with Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Edubuntu and all distributions derived.

The file is usually saved to your desktop so that, after reaching the directory "Desktop" from the terminal using the cd command you must issue the command bash amsn-0.97.2-1.tcl85.x86. To initialize the installation package that will without any user intervention required.

Note: the content outlined in the bash command may change in future, you must enter the exact name of the package that you can view on your desktop.
